If your shooting the Feds, they seem to pattern better with a more open non-ported choke, that being said a more open choke may cost you a few yards less in shooting, you may have a 35yd gun instead of a 40yd gun?

I have a 500 20ga super Bantom with a ssx.550 shooting fed heavy 3" #6 with flight control shoots great 30 to 35 all good with that. But with the 1187 rem 20ga in a 26" barrel I herd the .550 might be to tight and the .565 might be better. I thought Clark might have a little experience with this. Thanks guys

Kevin

Hey Kevin,

Sorry for my delay in gettting back to you. The SSX with the .550 does best with the Federal shells with the Flitecontrol Wad. I've seen some excellent patterns with the #7 shot shells.

Please let me know if I an be of help.

Thanks,
Clark
