If you have netflex pull up the movie called Vernon, Fl. It was made in 1981, I think, parts of it is kinda funny. There is a guy on there talking about turkey hunting and the pics Jim took reminded me of it.

That Vernon, Florida documentary is an odd one for sure. A couple of guys on GSN turned me on to it & I had to get myself a copy. 1981 doesn't seem like that long ago, but seeing how folks are dressed and all the vehicles in it remind me of how long ago that really was. I'm glad someone had the sense to make a movie about that place.

There are a few places where I'll hunt that look a little like Florida where that land is, but there's also some rolling hills once you get off the river some. There's more sandy soil there than up where I live, but the turkeys seem to like it just fine.

Here's what I saw yesterday morning where I'll be on opening day next Saturday. Shot off a cheap camera & tripod meant for still shots. Notice how the 2 year old leaves the hen when the bigger birds show up.
