What do you prefer... Slate, Glass, Crystal or other and why?

Bronzed Glass or Crystal is probably the most pleasing to my ear..

But for killing turkeys IME a well built aluminum call is very tough to beat.

I like the premo freak in the frictionite. I tried it and thought it sounded good and it works for me. I have trouble with the glass. I use the "quaker boy grand ole master" to get a bird coming then switch to the freak.

Long box.

Walnut over Black Limba. I think box just sounds real, especially at a little distance outside.
As far as this turkey thing......I know know enough...that I don't know enough

I've definitely killed more with a slate, only because that's what I've used the longest.

I have been using a long box for distance calling and a bronze glass (Thanks, Scott!) for the close work lately.

Luck Counts, good or bad

I'm a boxcall guy myself....I guess because I have the most confidence in it and it has brought a pile of birds to the gun. If I use a pot call it is usually a slate...although I have a copper call that sounds very good. I hope to seduce one with it this season...

i've shot more toms using crystal, but i use it more than glass or slate. i like the way yelps and cutts crackle on a crystal call when runnin and gunnin.
but, without checking my journal, i'd guess i have taken more birds using mouth calls than pot calls.
