Coke & Wild Turkey don't mix well

Postby TurkeyJohn » February 26th, 2013, 4:38 pm

Hi Folks,

Had one of my buddies send this to me a couple of days ago and just had to share seeing how the season's getting close.

Surprised the truck stayed on the road, but wonder how his pants made out.

Wow! I've seen them hit by cars but never stuck through a windshield.

The driver was lucky. A guy was killed driving thru Eglin reserve 2 years ago here in NW Florida in the same manner :o I don't know much about the details except that he was driving a tractor trailer truck.

I drive over 400 miles a week through rural areas covering a sales route and it's actually quite rare to see a bird hit by a car or on the side of the road, at least in Michigan.

Unlike deer or geese who seem to have no fear of cars or roadways, the turkeys seem to know that it is dangerous. They will loaf and feed in the field beside my house taking their sweet time. When they decide to cross the road, they will run across, one at a time. Once across the road in the woods, the group will resume their leisurely activities.
