oh yeah charlie my old man can still hunt nothing will stop that... he has got the cataract problem out of the way & cancer free!!! going to mayo feb 20 for the final check up B4 the turkey season starts!!! he got the biggest bird in KS & on opening day afternoon he just cant run & gun all over the place now he just works smarter not harder & he can sit for days !!! lol...

last year was a pretty good year dewey may help me post a few of the easterns we tagged also from MN/WI???

thanks guys i was really happy with the rios we harvested they were all really pretty birds see that OK rio is damn white...??? my last KS bird is being mounted he had 1 1/4 inch needle sharp spurs & had a tru rio grande color...

the merriam's hunt in 2011 was a really great late season hunt we hunted KS 3 days & herd no gobbles so we headed north to NE good choice!!! 4 birds in 2 days there!!! & we were back home we got lucky that it rained every night really hard & kept the road hunters at bay!!! last yr they were back in full force!!! the road hunters that is!!! errrr!!! i mean my old man can still walk in he dose not like road hunting...

cancer free!!! going to mayo feb 20 for the final check up B4 the turkey season starts!!! h

Now that is the best of news. You've got to love modern medicine miracles the Mayo can do, they saved mrs elk a couple of years ago even after some doctors said there was no hope.
Hope you guys have a rocking good celebration season this year.

yes charlie we ow the mayo clinic big big time!!! my father was in the same boat & your wife he had 2-3 major surgerys & the DRs in the twin cities pretty much said we tried but i just cant remove everything due to major arteries in the throat & wear the cancer was around the carotid artery & its terminal... we meet with a final DR & he said let me call my friend at the mayo we went down there & DR MOORER said thats what my job is to remove what others are to afraid to touch!!! needles to say he was confident that he could do the surgery!!! my father lost his voice box but gained many more years of life!!! it is just incredible what he did & how nobody else would touch my father but him!!! it was not a short road by any means get n my father back to his current strenth like 1.5 yrs of healing & hyperbarric chamber treatments but now hes good to go!!!

just a chest X-RAY feb 20 & hopefully just a quick chat with the docs???

any way the mayo will be my 1st stop if im ever in the same situation again!!! should of brang my mother there also but was to late...

we have had some big celebrations for my dad & he is living it up now & is hunting as much as he can for as long as he can!!!
