FAVORITE SHOT SIZE FOR TURKEY?

I don't have a favorite, I go with my guns favorite. When I get a new turkey gun I buy a bunch of different brands and sizes of both 3 and 3 1/2 and see what patterns the best. Right now one gun patterns great out to 50 yards with Winchester Supreme, 3 1/2 #4's, and the other 3 inch winchester 6's.
Any shot size will kill a bird, but the pattern is the key.

You have to make sure which one shoots the best with your gun/choke tube combo.

im trying to rack up as many birds as i can on my turkey gun 21 & counting

What works best for my gun is Winchester Supreme #5.

Always been a #4 shot man, but I will be switching to a HTL (Heavier than lead) in the #6 shot. Simply because That will give me the same energy as the #4 lead shot, but it will have a MUCH better pattern density.

Winchester Hevi-Shot, #6s. I had my doubts about using #6 shot at first, I was told when I first started you need #4 shot to knock them down. A buddy swore by them, so I thought I'd give them a try at the patterning board & in the field, and I was impressed, they throw a wicked swarm of pellets. The only downside is now I'm picking more BB's out of my dinner.

my ol' mossberg 3" 12 shoots winchester supreme and remington nitro 5s equally well through an xtra tight choke.

No, I was taught to aim for the wattles. Turkeys are always jerking & bobbing their heads around.
