FAVORITE SHOT SIZE FOR TURKEY?

just watched the turkey thug TV show & they have asked this question a few times so i just wanted to do the same here whats everybodys favorite shot size for slaying turkeys each spring...???

im partial to the 3" federal heavyweight #5 shot my self i have shot about 98% of my birds with 5 shot only last yr my buddy had baught some heavyweight 7s & was not able to go i got them off him at a discount price & managed to kill 2 birds with them & did like them alot as the fill my pattern very well... i have 2 left so i will be using them 7s i think out in the open OK or KS prairies... any ways lets hear you thoughts???

My favorite is Winchester Xtended Range #5 12 guage.

I shoot the 3 inch federals with the FC wad. copper plated lead #5. I have also used Winchester supreme # 5,6 lead and they also killed birds.

I like 5's.

I shoot a single shot gun and use 6's in lead or HTL.

They do the job in a turkey shell out to the ranges I will shoot them.

Best shot for culinary reasons too IME.

I have been using Winchester High Velocity Turkey Loads Supreme 12 gauge 3" 1 3/4 oz #4 shot. I am very interested in possbily switching to a heavier than lead ammo, possibly the Hevi-13 #7's, but I am trying to determine what is best for my shotgun. I also need to use up all of my existing #4 shot before I switch.

Federal 3" 12 GA #4 2 oz lead. I have been shooting it since 1996. Prior to that I was shooting 2 3/4" Remington Nitro Buffered Magnums in #4.

hard to beat federal heavyweight 5s with the flite control wad a gopher my loads are the same as yours just in heavyweight instead of lead

My primary turkey gun likes 3" Hevi #6s, though I'm going to try some Hevi #7s through it this year too. My single shot shoots Winchester Supreme 3" copper plated #6s well.
