I just started this Gibson. I got it hollowed out and shaped. I use a piece of spalted hickory I cut from my back yard, and added a blackwood lid on it. Even without doing any tuning to it so far, it wants to play. It's has a high pitch with quite a bit of rasp and seems to be a loud sounding call. I've never done one using hickory for the box. We will see how it tunes out and finishes?
