Tail of the Hunt

I got this PA fall turkey on Nov 6. As you can see by the photo there is no tail on this hen. That is cause after I shot her she took off running and the chase was on. I caught up to her under a down tree and as I reached to grab her she took off again, I got her a hold of her tail and all the feathers came out. A few feet later I got her in a small ravine. So this is the short version of the tail of my hunt. Bob

If someone filmed this, I think it would have made America's Funniest Home Video's. At the time it was not funny to me but after telling the story, most people thought it was funny. Not the preferred method of turkey hunting but in the end, I was sure that I hit her and wanted to make sure. At least she made it to my vest and not as a coyote dinner.

Congrats on the bird. Glad I wasn't the one having to run her down, I think I might have wound up the coyote dinner .
