Postby DonMcJr » October 28th, 2012, 6:28 pm

Well I had 10 Turkeys come in this morning. All Hens and I believe these 2 are bearded hens. They Were pretty close and I saw no spurs with the Binoculars...

Nice video shootin' !! :D
I've never seen 2 adult bearded hens together before, but had a bearded hen bring her brood through the back yard when her youngins' were about 3/4 grown. 4 young hens had beards about 4" long, and the hen's was around 6". That's as long as a hen's beard was, that I've ever shot/seen, here and back in Michigan. ;)
Ever wonder where the white goes when the snow melts????

Good video. They seem close enough that you should have been able to see spurs.
Steve, I love "smoked" turkey

They were about 15 yards from me...and with 8 other Hens with no beards.

Here's a Bearded Hen I shot 2 years ago in the spring...I cleaned it and everything before I knew it was a bearded hen because it was my 1st Turkey...so my property must have genetics for them...
