Mossberg 930 Target

Postby allaboutshooting » October 9th, 2012, 8:05 pm

I shot this target with my stock Mossberg 930 with a 28" barrel and the SSX Turkey Choke using 3" Hevi-13 shotshells with 2 oz. of #6 shot at the most recent still target World Championship.

The 930 is an amazing shotgun. I shot it for 2 days in both the Open and Hunter classes and it never failed to function. The "37" hits in the 3" circle at 40 yards was the highest score in the 2 day competition.

The fall turkey season comes in here in a few days so I'll see if I can get one of those big birds out in front of the 930. That's really what it's all about.

Thanks,
Clark

That's a really nice pattern Clark. That's a dead Turkey in anybodies' woods. Congrats on your outcome. By the way, I still haven't gotten to pattern that new choke with the shells with the flite-control wads. I won't forget to PM you with the results. Thanks again for your info.

Hey Ted,

Thank you. I like the 10" pattern around that 3" circle. I've looked at a close-up picture of it and the 930 did a good job. I look forward to hearing from you about those shells.

Thanks,
Clark
