Brian I saw more purple Trilliums this spring than I ever have before too. Most were a lighter purple than the one I have pictured, but as you say there seemed to usually be a few purple ones sprinkled here and there.

In WI purple is the color they turn as they are dying. Usually this takes place after turkey season, then the woods if full of purple ones.

Caught me on my softer side. Sometimes I even remember I am turkey hunting and get around to shooting a few.

That Charlie is some of the small things that make turkey hunting the best! It is not always about the kill but what you find along the way!
