Remington ventilator?

Postby Gopherlongbeards » May 9th, 2012, 8:24 am

Hey all,

I've heard good things about the Remington ventilator choke tube and was thinking of giving it a shot. Any have any experience with this tube?

Is this a new choke from Remington? I looked on their website and couldn't find it. Just curious.
Mossberg 500 Turkey Gun 12 gauge
24" barrel, 3", Mossy Oak Infinity camo
Mossberg Accu-Choke XX-Full turkey choke
Winchester DoubleX 3", 1125 fps., 2 oz. #5 shot

I think its an older choke. they might not make them anymore. I got one online and it did pattern well for me. Used it this season and was pretty happy with it.

Those chokes have not been made for several years. They were branded by Remington but I'm not sure who actually manufactured them. If I remember correctly, they were "lead only" chokes but it's been a while since I've seen one, so there may have been some made that were Hevi-Shot approved. They were pretty inexpensive at the time and I understand they can be found here and there for under $20.00 today.

Thanks,
Clark

One of the better factory chokes for turkey.. I believe the constriction is 655, they were lead only, many are getting good patterns with HTL shotshells however.. Might be a good matchup with Win XTD Range 6s, with XTD tending to like a tighter constriction.
