Is the yelp used in the spring by a hen for mating?
Just woundering since most call manufacturers sort of advertize that way. (watching hunting shows today, its raining /sleating out) This call will bring that love sick gobbler in, etc. You all seen the ads.
Sorry guys sometimes my mind just wounders.

Hens use yelping in the spring to get the attention of toms but they also use it in the fall and other times of year to communicate with each other. I think the yelp is a really important call in the spring.

The spring hen uses the yelp for communicating various meanings; she uses the crouch for mating.
Why be good when you can B-Mobile or Spin & Strut.
