Big Bird

Postby WillowRidgeCalls » May 21st, 2012, 9:10 pm

We just got done scoring a bird for a buddy of mine. His son shot it Sunday at 6:05pm. It scored 146.60 using the NWTF scale. It has 7 beards, 11-1/16", 8-3/8", 8", 6-1/4", 5-5/8", 5-1/4", 3-7/8", 22.11#, Rs 1", Ls 3/4". He is emailing me a pic of himself and the bird in the field, I'll post it as soon as I get it. The tom came in following a hen.

Holy crappy Scott that is an awesome gobbler!!!! I quickly looked at the NWTF website for the WI state record scoring gobbler and that gobbler would be the #11 highest scoring gobbler overall. I hope he is going to register that gobbler with the NWTF.

Congratulations to the guy that harvested that gobbler.

Yeah we figured that bird should be real close to being in the top 10, He needed to get it to a certified scale for the official score. The bird was frozen so he could get it mounted when we did the measuments, so we couldn't get a clear close up pic of all the beards, I'm checking to see if he did?
Here is a pic of the young hunter Mat Fischer with his bird, this bird has a good rope on him with all the beards bunched up.
Congrats Mat, on a once in a life time WI. bird :D .
