I saw some yelpers in the most recent Midwest catalogue and would like to know if anyone has any experience with the Dogwood Creek osage yelper or the Turpin cocobolo yelper? They are listed for $59 and $75 respectively, are can either of them be had for a better price somewhere else? I'd like to try the yelper. Right now I basically use mouth calls and a wingbone.
Hi Jim, I have use a yelper but I have changed to a wooden under the barrel with a string attached box call, it cuts down onthe movement and I've killed four to date with it, and it can be heard a long ways or used soft..good hunting..bubbalp
well jim ...i assume your talking about suction yelpers.....turpins cocobolo......for 75.00 is a good choice....they have a good sound and for your fist trumpet its a good one to learn on .....ive played steves calls and there a fine call and not out of the most hunters price range ......stay away from plastic ones that are price cheap...dont know about dogwood creek, the turpin style turmpet is my choice....Ron
