2014 Spring dates.

Postby ticklishtompro » March 10th, 2013, 9:36 pm

I just recieved an email showing the 2014 spring hunting dates. I was surprised to see them out this early, but it also seems they pushed the dates a week later.

2014 Turkey Season Dates
•Youth Hunt: April 12-13
•Period A: April 16-22
•Period B: April 23-29
•Period C: April 30 – May 6
•Period D: May 7-13
•Period E: May 14-20
•Period F: May 21-27

What do you all think of this? I am not sure of it. The only thing I know for sure is this means our LTH will be April 5-6 which would be the latest it has ever been by a couple days, before this it was usually right around the 1st of April.

I thought I remember the season closing on May 26th one year, not sure though.

With the season closing the 21st this year, that is the earliest closing date I can remember.

Since I am a non-res I have always hunted 6th season. :) There was a time (before they went to 7 zones) that I could only draw 6th season and no extra tags! Actually there were years I couldn't even draw a tag.

This will save me from myself. Hopefully in future years the snow will be gone by the youth season and regular first season.

I feel for you Daniel, I remember hating to go to school during hunting seasons. Here in WI we can hunt each with a new tag and hunt until sunset. This gives everyone a lot flexibility to pick their hunting times around other commitments. Your limit of turkeys is determined by the number of tags you have in your pocket. So if a guy has a dozen tags he can attempt to kill a dozen turkeys.
Did I make you feel any better? ;)
