Two for the BBQ

Postby charlie elk » September 19th, 2012, 1:52 pm

The Willowridge fall call, the one for kee-keeing and such is working great. I've had a lot of birds come in the last 4 days and finally got hungry enough to shoot a couple.

Got this one in unit 4 Tuesday afternoon, took him less than 10 minutes to come to the call.

Vic helped, he broke the flock, we setup on a narrow ridge, called, he flew back from across the valley, landed and popped his head up above the ridge line at the shot all I saw was feathers and fur rolling down the hill. As peered over I saw Vic holding the turkey.

This morning in unit 1 lady luck shined again. Vic broke em, we setup and they came back in about 45 minutes later.

If you agree with me call it fact; if you disagree - call it my opinion.
After all - we are talking turkey.

Glad to hear you and Vic are getting a workout on those birds, and that fall set of calls is working great for you. Good luck on the rest of your tags. :D

Pretty soon you and Vic are going to be responsible for more turkey deaths than Jennie-o. Seriously though congratulations on the fall hunting so far and good luck on the next tag.
