My son hunts SE OH close to the KY border. We have been talking about hunting KY.  KY is a beautiful state to hunt really enjoyed my last trip there.

I hunt out of state on the cheap; I camp so there is no lodging expense just gas and NR license fee.  Food doesn't count because you have to eat no matter where you are.  Time---that is the bigger problem.

yeah i would be hard for the time because i have school during the week and stuff. but after school, im really hoping to go someday. [:D]

Well you guys are more than welcome to come down and try your luck at these KY birds anytime you want.

And turkeytracks, I am in school all week as well, which limits a lot of my hunting time. I plan on going out of state next year (2012) down to Georgia to hunt with a buddy of mine. Never been out of state to hunt before so I'm looking forward to it...but I'm also looking forward to this season as well!

I'm in West Central WI. 
And yes all gobbles count.  Interestingly many turkey hunters do not think toms gobble in the fall. Actually they gobble quite regular. I won a $20 bet with a buddy this year during a fall hunt I proved to him they gobble.  the story is posted under Tales of the Hunt here in the WI section.

Hey Charlie,

I went out last Saturday morning to feed and I heard someone doing some goose hunting on the neighboring farm. As soon as the shots rang out at about 8:15 I heard a hand full of toms give out one or two gobbles. I think it's the same group I've been hearing for the last two weeks. When I made it back to the house, I heard a hen yelping and there was a bird that gobbled 4 times on the roost overlooking an alfalfa field behind the house. I keep getting more excited for season to start by the day, but we're still 84 days from opener here in KY. Hope those birds of yours get over that bad case of lock jaw they're having!
