Hows the deer hunting coming?

I've seen several doe and saw a buck out at 75 yds. It def had forks, but couldn't find the third point.

The birds continue to elude me. No birds. No sign.

Its like the earth opened up and swallowed them whole.

I shot a doe on Wed. and saw a buck on Fri. but couldnt get a shot. Thismorning a friend of mine killed it about 150 yds. from me it was a 5pt. with a bad leg from a archery wound sort of glad I didnt get that one. I also saw a flock of 12 young birds on Wed. and saw a single bird on Fri. A friend of mine killed a huge 8pt. today it has a big rack with two horns on the right main beam broken off. He was scared up on the face and neck from fighting and was still in rut. The buck scored 140.

Had a big one scouted out but got shot opening day while I was upstate hunting. Old timer says it was a 12 pointer. Ouch.

No wonder we couldn't find the birds. They are all at the gap. Must have been 35+ birds across from Funks today.

Now that is enough to make a grown man cry! It is going to be a interesting spring however I look forward to a good year. They sure were tough this fall the worst I have ever seen. Good luck with the deer I will be out again tomorrow.

Deer season was ok, My son got 2 doe, onewith a bow, one with rifle, first saturday I pushed a nice 7 pointer to my father-in-law and he shot it. The guy is 70 and still climbing the Blue mtn! Waiting on the muzzleloader season. Didn't see any birds though. I'd like to wish all you guys a Merry Christmas and a Happy NewYear.Stay safe.

Congrats. to ya'll Brian looks like you are having a good season. I am getting anxious for the muzzel loader season myself. It wasn't a bad season here but it took a lot of shoe leather. Birds were extremely hard to find but as usual are starting to show up now. Hope you do well with the flintlock and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours.
