Spring Gobbler 2013

Postby hckyplayer8 » April 2nd, 2013, 9:26 am

Recent warmth has gotten the birds going.

Always get antsy this time of year but seeing this guy in full strut and gobbling this past Sunday, its really gotten the turkey fever going.

Looks like a good one. Good luck this spring.

Thanks guys. Unfourntantly there is no hunting this guy. He is on military property.

However there is good news. Where I do hunt I have been seeing birds, including a gobbler in full strut.

The birds are very active right now. Their heads are the brilliant colors we love to see. Should be a good first day pending the weather.

Anybody take some youngsters out for the youth hunt today?

Yesterday I had 2-3 gobblers around me with the closest one really going. About a half an hour in I heard hen yelps to my right, which then swung down and into in front of me.

The gobblers found their chick and it was game over.
