Im getting really antsy. My friend got a jake in the youth season and that just got me more excited.

Got my gear prepped last night.  Can't wait.  Replaced my old, worn out deke with a new one.  Got all new mouth calls for this season.  Definitely psyched.  Hoping the weather cooperates.  Supposed to rain.

I'm taking the day off friday to go out and hopefully get one. I was able to secure some nice private land for this season but have been watching some public land too. Where will you guys be starting it off?

Im starting off on the farm where my grandpa lives. Me and my dad have one nailed down, we know right where he roosts and flies down[:D]. We are going out thursday morning and afternoon to locate and mabey roost a few more birds incase the first one i talked about doesnt cooperate.

I will be starting out hunting my land in Chautauqua County. I have seen and heard birds the last couple times I have been up there. I will be listening and locating tonight and tomorrow trying to get a good pinpoint on them. I also have another spot that a family member owns that is loaded with birds! I am very optimistic. Well, with one and a half days to go, I am super pumped. Last weekend I was fortunate enough to have an early start as far as getting in some calling. I took my little brother out for the youth weekend. Saw a ton of birds, but they were staying just out of range. Got a good look at a very large bird. Easily 10 1/2 inch beard. He has an awesome gobble on him. I can't wait to set up on him opening morning. I will be starting my journey in Madison county, the town of Kirkville. Good luck everyone. -Kevin
