My Son-in-Law and I are heading to NM this spring. We are planning on hunting the Lincoln Nat. Forest. Are there some areas we should be looking at more than others? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Everything south of the Mescalero Reservation is good. Lots of vocal birds scattered throughout that country. Mostly public land and good road system. Probably the best public land turkey hunting in NM.

Agree with Gobblerman, but I would wait another year or two to hunt the southern Sacramentos, let the birds come back and the downed trees get cleared after a hard winter of 2009-2010
