Two new wing bones from AJ - lucky me!!!

Postby paboxcall » January 25th, 2010, 8:13 am

A very good friend gave me a couple jake bones he had a while back, wanting me to fashion a wingbone yelper for him.  I'm clearly not the right guy for this job, but let me tell you - Arnie Jonathan sure is.

I asked AJ to make two calls -- one for my buddy and one for me.  Let's go 'function over form,' I told him, and then I waited for what I figured would be a few plain calls to show up.  AJ responded with function and form together with these two beauties.  AJ calls them hunter-grade, and all I could say was "Wow!" when I opened the box.  I am just simply blown away by how strikingly beautiful these calls are, and more importantly how easily they run.  These wing bones simply talk turkey because AJ knows how to tune a set of bones for sure.  Within a few minutes I realized I was holding my new favorite call.

I found AJ to be everything people say:  easy to talk to, easy to work with, customer first, and a true craftsman.  Check his web site, you'll see for yourself.  For "hunter grade" there is nothing plain and simple in AJ's definition - AJ builds form into function with every touch, and the beauty of the wing bone call shines with these examples.  I couldn't be more proud to have one in my growing call collection.

As if, as Tom Kelly writes, the last of the waiting for opening day wasn't hard enough to survive, now I have my new favorite go-to call begging and pleading to get out into the woods quick!  Thanks AJ - I truly appreciate your work and effort.

First class all the way.

AWESOME work! I would be interested in getting my hands on a beauty like that.
