Just wantd to show off some pics of my Henry Gibson, early 1900's box call.

I am curious... have you tried to "play it."

If so, how did it sound?

The sound is fairly decent but that's with no chalk. The thing I like about old calls is how they were made. A lot of call makers today that produce box calls use a mortise machine or a mill to hew out the chamber. These old calls usually were drilled and hand sanded.
