Trough Call

I received a trough call from Custom Call Maker Mike Lapp. Mike entered these this year in Nashville and took first and second place. Mike is most known for his box calls however,in 2012 he entered these in the Stevens Category in the hunting call divsion. This call will be going in my vest this fall and spring. What's the surface made of? Regular type pot striker?

The surface is anodized aluminum on that call. He has made them with corian as well. Mike is known for his box calls short and long. He makes push pins as well. All hand made and no computer operated machines. Both the aluminum and corain sound great and can sound like several turkey's hen and gobblers depending where you run the call top - middle - bottom. I like it and I also have one of his short box and long box. Great sounding calls.

Thanks for the info. Is the call surface flat or "U" shaped?

Duke, The call surface is flat. You can kee, cut , yelp, purr on it much like a pot call.
