Anyone fall hunt in South Jersey?

Yea, I went this fall. I was recovering from surgery and could only hunt the last Saturday. Hunted Zone 21. It was raining and I did not hear or see a bird all day.

Fall turkey hunting is all about figuring out where and what the turkeys are eating; they aren't breeding in the fall so decoying isn't as important. Decoys in the fall are more about confidence and advertising the presence of food than about drawing in gobblers. Oak and pecan stands are awesome and if the turkeys are moving in at a certain time on Wednesday (for example) they will probably be moving in at the same time on Saturday unless someone shoots at them or an eagle takes one, etc. etc. In the most general terms, I would say that Fall hunting is a little easier if you can figure out where they are moving and what they are eating.
