Anybody from NE Nebraska on here

Postby NEStrut » January 22nd, 2010, 10:40 am

Hey Everybody -

Just thought I'd post up a new thread in the Nebraska section.

If you've posted in here before, say hi again.

If you've never posted in here before. Speak up.

I know there's still a lot of snow on the ground right now, and icy crap falling from the sky too, but bow season's only a couple months away.
If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, "thank you," that would suffice.

Hi NEStrut
I'm from Omaha and just started hunting this past year. I did manage to get a Jake and a good sized longbeard. Also, where are you a volumteer firefighter at? I spent 25 years on the Boys Town fire department but I had to give it up because the knees gave up the ghost.
Also, do you or anybody else have any idea on the turkey winter kill. All of this snow can't help.

I'm a volunteer in Osmond, about 30 miles north of Norfolk.

As far as the winter kill goes......I'm not too worried for birds up here. There's some pretty good snow drifts, but, in most places if you go down the road 1/2 mile or a mile it's almost bare ground where the wind blew the field clean to make that big snow drift.

Where do you hunt at, down by you?
