Well my dad got his first bird of the season here in NY. After I got my bird on thursday, they went quiet over the weekend but it was probably mostly to do with the bad weather. Well we went out today, separately, and we got set up on two toms that were gobbling hard on the roost. As soon as they hit the ground, they didn't make a sound. Both of us ended up moving locations and by eight o'clock my dad had both of them walk by him coming in silently to soft calls which I could here the whole time. We were only about 100 yards appart. After calling my bird away from him thursday, I was nice today and just shut up. Well he ended up shooting the second bird that past. It had a 10.5" beard and 1" spurs! It is actually his first tom too.
