Huckleberry Mountain Gobbler

Postby ncturkey » May 2nd, 2009, 12:40 pm

I took this gobbler on April 29 2009. I was hunting in North Carolina at secret place I have been hunting for 6 years trying to get a turkey. I had him shock gobble at a crow call at 9:22 am.He gobbled at least a hundred times during the 7 hour hunt. I finally moved into postion to get within 40 yards of this longbeard. I yelped lightly to him. He could not stand it. He spit and drummed and gobbled right in to 10 yards.I took him a 4:22 pm on the dot. He weight 17 lbs. 15 oz. with a 10 1/4" beards and 1" spurs on both legs. Image
