Taken in Sempronius NY @ The Bell Ranch  @ 5:45am on May 2nd, 2009.
Shot with a Model 1929 Springfield Arms 12 gauge - 30" full choked barrel.
Rolled at 30 yards, never made one gobble coming in.....

Nice bird, congrats. I hunted around the Finger Lakes about 5 years ago. I wish I could remember the National Forest where I was.

They must not have any longbeards on the Bell Ranch.  Better luck next year.  In my opinion you shouldn't shoot jakes because they grow into longbeards... its almost like an investment.

Came up thru New York state on my way to Roxbury Ct this past Fall. Flew in to Newburgh?? Drove across the Hudson. Absolutely gourgous countryl
