My father, Al Bobrofsky, age 75, scored on his best ever gobbler after 42 Years of turkey hunting across the country- I would agree, the bird was an absolute beast.
27 lbs - on a digital NWTF scale.
12 in beard- THREE inches wide
1 1/4 inch spurs- needle sharp
The pics hardly do the bird justice, it had to be five years old and we couldn't stop looking at it. Dad weighs 235 and has large hands making the 1 1/4 in spurs look small. The beard is so wide it literally covers the fingers of his large hand. I have no idea what the bird scores...the spurs could have been longer compared to the beard and weight, and beard width doesn't increase the score.
Still, the turkey of a lifetime for most of us. Congrats, Al !
