Texas 2009 Photos

We went to Texas the first weekend of April which is prior to my posting for the Merriams 2009 hunt.
 
Texas  was vey good this year as well as I got my limit there and then started hunting them with the camera.
 
Just for the record, none of the birds I photgraphed were shot. They're still roaming as far as I know.

Hey it would be great if you and your son could go there. Everyone should hunt Texas at least once. The problem is that it does't work that way and once you go, you'll likely keep going back.

Texas has it's own beauty but it ain't NH or GA for that matter. Rough and tough country at least where I go. The turkeys are great and they act right.

Great pictures Bobby. Thanks for sharing them.  I found a place in a State Park that I hope to get some decent turkey pictures next Spring.
 
You have plenty of turkeys there around Canton...pretty country too.  I was at a flintknapping event at Allatoona Lake a few years ago in April during turkey season (I'd already tagged out here) and I couldn't believe how many birds I saw.  Don't you all get 5 or 6 tags a year? I wouldn't know how to act with so many. I would be hunting so much, it would probably put my wife the rest of the way over the edge, but not until she'd eaten her fill of turkey.

It is pretty country here. Man I wish we got that many tags. You're allowed 3 birds in Ga but they surprisingly don't issue tags here.
