2010 turkey pics

Figured we needed a quick place to put up some spring and fall turkey harvests so lets see'em[:D]

My uncle and I hnted this bird for two weeks. He finally connected wigth it on Sunday. 20lbs 10in beard 1 in spurs.

Well it's been a great season so far. I have been blessed so far this season with three nice birds. Seen quite a few but, holding out for those big paint brushes. The last one I took had two longbeards with him and he wasnt even the strutter. Called all three away from hens.

My older brother had never been turkey hunting before, he just came as an observer. This big boy came in with a jake and 5 hens at 7:30am after gobbling 3x on the roost. My brother was on the wrong side of the tree and didn't get to see the dance. He's now wanting to take hunting back up!!

How long are the spurs on that beast, they are very long. Nice job to you and nice job Longbeards, great turkeys. Cant wait to get out and get my brother his 1st spring turkey during the youth season.[:D][:D][:D]

Thanks 835. The birds in the last two pictures I took with my 835. The one on the bottom had a strutter and another longbeard with him. Could'nt get a shot at the strutter so I took the closer one (19.8 pounds, 9.5 inch beard, spurs a little over an inch). My buddy and I ranged the distance afterward. He was 63 yards. Jellyhead and a Hevi 4x5x7 dropped him dead. I don't normally shoot at that distance but sometimes knolls and dips can make judging distance difficult. the middle bird was 45 yards. Top one came up running to my pretty boy, took him with the 870 super mag at 20 yards using 3.5 win supreme #6. Great season so far here in bama. Put one to bed this evening and will try and slip in early in the morning. Lets hope he plays along. I'll let ya know how it plays out. By the way, when i killed the one in the middle picture there were 6 birds gobbling, all within 300 yards of me. What a dream, huh?

Well I got in the woods around 0500 this morning knowing the bird I roosted last night would be there. As luck would have it something bumped him out of the tree i saw him fly into. All the hens were gone this morning also. I sat until 0610 and heard one gobble way off in the distance. I got up and went to him, which turned out to be about 500 yards away. Got within a 100 yards and made a couple of soft clucks and yelps and he cut me off quick. 10 min later I saw him strutting coming right to me. At 45 yards Mr. 835 sent him to say hi to Elvis for me. 19.5 pounds, 10.5 inch beard, and 1 inch spurs. What a beautiful bird.

Now that is what I call a good season!!! I will be lucky to get that many longbeards in the next 5 years here in NY. Great job and your right Beautiful Bird!
