From Mi and planning a turkey hunt in KY

I have a friend who lives in Louisville. I see 2 places south of there about 30-40 miles. One is Knobs State Forest and WMA and the other is John C. Williams WMA. I am looking for anyone who has hunted or frequented these areas, or knows someone, and can report on the Turkey populations in these areas. I do not need any specifics (but would not refuse) just some general observations such as more to the N,S,E or W sections just to give me a starting point, any camping in the area you could recommend? I will be doing more research through the year and will head down a few times to drive and hike the areas. Also I have never hunted out of the state of MI so any other pointers would be appreciated.
