For nothing! Not really, I got to spend a few hours in the Turkey woods...that beats work any day! I heard one Gobble a couple of times a long ways off to the north a little before 7 AM. Called in a Jake from way off to the west (I thought it was a hen when it all started) and had a jenny hen and a mature hen show up at different times. Don't know what the jenny was scratching after, but she stayed around for almost 10 minutes. It was my first time hunting this location, just a wide spot in an old logging road that had a bunch of tracks going every which way. I only had a few hours to spend.
I doubt I'll hunt the same place Saturday. I plan to hunt near the old strut zone if I can get up there undetected. The Landowner has been hunting up there quite a bit this season, it might be time for 'em to hear a different dialect. Didn't hear any gobbling from up that way today. Never can tell though.
