Guided Hunts

Postby Axelwood » November 24th, 2008, 7:56 pm

I am thinking about booking a guided hunt for a few friends....  In the South East area
When you go on a guided hunt, who does the calling?  The guide or the hunter?
I read about semi -guided hunts....  are these recommended?   Are there any good suggesstions for semi-guide hunts......

On a guided hunt, your guide does the hunting.  That is called buying your way in.  It is the same as if a friend took you and called one up, except for the money part.

On a semi-guided hunt, you pay a guy to point you in the direction of turkeys and you do the work.
Why be good when you can B-Mobile or Spin & Strut.

I have never done a guided hunt but from everything I've read the really good outfitters will tailor your hunt to whatever you want.  If you want to call, they let you call.  If you need help getting that tough tom, they can assist.
There are a ton of outfitters to pick from in the Southeast, but White Oak Plantation here in Central Alabama seems to be on television every year.  I know they have a ton of birds.
