I tend to hunt with a lot of differnent people the first 4 weeks of season. The last 3, 4 days tend to hunt by myself. I will most usually pick out that SOB that gave ya fits all season. I truly think it adds something to the hunt.

any TOUGH TO WORK bird is nothing more than a educater for the hunter. i enjoy a one on one battle of my wits and experience against his own .
turkeys don't make me crazy mad or angry,,,,,though i do get upset with myself when i can't seem to figure out how to FOOL him.
the tougher the bird ,,,the less that i call VOCALLY .

I spent the entire first week of PA chasing turks around the same three hollows, while everyone was reporting silent turks in the areas they were hunting.

There's one that got the drop on me 10 minutes after flydown opening day that hardly made a peep the rest of the week.  Though too much ground and food availability changes roosting areas across the big woods year to year, I will start my first morning on that same little knoll this year to try that old longbeard again.

and there's nothing you can do about it, you made a mistake."

I've never been fortunate enough to hunt a place that has a certain bird that I can know for sure he's different than other birds, and keep after him until I get him.  I just love getting out in the turkey woods, and whatever gobbler walks into my crosshairs, that's the one I shoot.
