Dr. James Earl Kennemer of the NWTF provided some of the info, I will get the author of the articles name once I locate it.

DR. James Earl K. wrote a couple publications on studies in the late 80's and early 90's, both him and his wife. Both books are hard to find and are collectable. He has done many other studies and publications since. I think he has been studying turkeys for the last 30 + years. Some intersting reading.

So you guys don't believe this biologist?

Pretty much. Most of what is in the article is totally different then what I've seen while hunting, scouting and just being out in the woods during the spring.

I've always put personal experience above what I read on the internet from some biologist especially when any turkey hunter would know that the majority of that article is bs. Heres a quote, "When it had rained within the last 12 hours gobbling activity was almost non-existent." That is about the most bogus thing I've read in a turkey article.

My experience is that gobbling is reduced after a good rain, however the main objective was that weather does affect turkey breeding regardless of if the day was 11 or 13 hours long

You don't need to purchase any test tubes to know if they will gobble on a clear morning, you can find the answer here on the forum.
