Big Brother to track your hunting spots

Postby silvestris » February 24th, 2009, 5:58 am

[font="verdana, arial, helvetica"][color="midnightblue" size="2"][font="verdana, arial, helvetica"][color="midnightblue" size="2"][font="verdana, arial, helvetica"]Saw this where the government is looking into a mileage tax rather than a gasoline tax. All vehicles will be fitted with a GPS device so government can see where you drive and exactly where your turkey hunting hotspots are located.

I am really concerened with all these socialist ideologies that our government is brainstorming around with.

I would be concerned as well as I am..  Socialism has already got a foothold in this country and the deeper we fall into a depression economically, the larger the call for government action and subsequently "control" will take affect.

Thanks for the link, Silvestris.

Neal Bortz was talking about this last Friday. Privacy is a huge issue. Also it was indicated that Uncle Sam is concerned about the viability of electric vehicles that wouldn't pay a gasoline tax. A ton of issues to be sorted through though, ie: were you driving on a state highway, county road or city street, etc.

The thought makes me cringe.

Congressmen and senators will be exempt.  Wouldn't want the time spent in gay bars, girlfriends apartments and at lobbyist partys to become public knowledge.[:D]

On Star and EZ-pass already does that in a sense--which people pay for!  I'm not concerned about this at all.  Scare tactics and irrational thinking.  It's the loudmouth idiots in the big three (New York City, Chicago, and LA) that for some reason think that they speak for the whole population.  There are enough sound minded people out there who will not let this and other crazy ideas pass.  All you have to do is think of how the government would enact, enforce, and monitor every car on the road.....not possible.  Just my thoughts.

Ya might wanna be more concerned about that new deal they are trying to push through in Illinois where they require you to have a $1 million insurance policy if you want to own a gun.
