HIGH SPEED TRUMPET TRAINING

Postby mark hay » March 10th, 2009, 1:49 pm

it's always more satisfying to learn something on your own , you know , the hard way. but, i'll be 52 next month and i 'd rather try to catch up by coaching than find out for myself on the tricks of the trumpet , cane yelper , wingbone. if this offends you , just don't respond, and i'll not get grumpy for it. any advice though will be greatly appreciated.
above all , the '' PURR '' has got me all knotted up . i can't imagine how it's done .

''old school turkey tactics '' ,,,evidently still in the learning stages .

Steve has given you excellent advice.  Use the slate type caller or diaphram for purring.  Concentrate on what the caller can do best.
Why be good when you can B-Mobile or Spin & Strut.

if you can cluck, yelp, and kee kee you can kill turkeys in any season, purr add realism but I doubt they really attract turkeys to your position
Theres young school and theres old school.
I'm still in school.

Mark, give this one a try.  Jeff Floyd is a preacher in South Mississippi who makes some really nice sounding cane and Jordan style yelpers.  That was his son who killed the gobbler I posted the hunt from last Saturday.  Try his tips and you should be sounding very presentable in short order.
