1ST OSCEOLA DOWN

Postby STEROIDCHICKEN » April 2nd, 2009, 5:56 am

went to south florida last week in pursuit of my first osceola....man, what a trip.
me and ronnie and one of our sponsors roosted 3 longbeards, 4 jakes and 8 hens saturday evening....went in that night and put out our doublebull blinds...next morning, everything went as planned. hens flew down, jakes came running in looking for a fight...and then, here comes ol peanut-butter-strutter. he came in from 100 yards out....clear-open, which made for some awesome footage. he wooped up on our full-body strutter-named dr.phil. i shot him off the top of the mount after he knocked him over....it should be a great show and i was pumped....we ended up leaving florida and headed to south georgia where we got on some vocal and responsive birds...we ended up taking a triple on film there and a double the next day...big birds, 1-1/2" and 1-5/8" spurs..10-10-1/2" .beards. heading to alabama this weekend.
