Where do you hunt?

Postby Ben Sobieck » April 9th, 2009, 7:07 am

The results of the turkeyandturkeyhunting.com poll show a mixed bag of hunting locations. By a slim majority, private land by permission appears to be the most popular.

I hunt mainly private land, but with all the time I'll have to hunt this spring I plan on giving a few public land spots a shot this spring.

I hunt all private land. Roughly 250 -300 acres beteween 3 properties. My family owns 100 my uncle owns about 80 which I have all to myself (sometimes) and another property that is owned by a farmer up the road, and I have permission to hunt.

I hunt on both Private and public land. Where I live alot of the Private landowners are freinds of the family so I have alot of Private ground to hunt on. But, the public land that is available in my area has alot of ground that has some really good hunting on it dispite shareing it with other hunters. Most who hunt around here are very good about respecting others in the woods. Deer season is always more crowded then the Spring turkey season is. So for me it all just depends on where the birs are. Not matter where I end up I know I will have a good time hunting.

I hunt birds on my place or wonder over to joining property owned by family. There is a lot of National Forest land close to me that I like to chase birds on also.
