Tribute to Lovett Williams

Postby allaboutshooting » May 10th, 2014, 6:20 pm

I just read the tribute to Lovett Williams. What a beatutiful article. Don't we all wish that when it's our time, someone could write somethig like that about us?

"If he's out of range, it just means that he has another day and so do you."

Yes, with his passing on 4-30-2014 from a prolonged illness. He will be missed by numerous turkey hunters, his books are a great asset to turkey hunters of all ages. He was one of the most influential turkey biologist and authors living today. He will be missed.

I remember reading in one of the last issues of T&TH that Lovett was sick. He certainly did improve my turkey hunting knowledge. I'm grateful for the dedication he put into studying the wild turkey and sharing his findings. The books of his that I own helped shorten the learning curve for me and I'll always owe him for that.
