First hunt of season.

Postby daniel ripley » May 2nd, 2014, 10:29 pm

Went out for the first time this morning with my dad and a friend of his, and to start of the memories for this turkey season I set my alarm clock an hour ahead so instead of waking up at 4:30 we woke up at 3:30 so I slept for an hour in my hunting clothes. After we got to the field on the dark and got setup, around 5:30ish they started gobbling and we had 4or5 toms going on the roost! 3 of them flew down into the field about 175yrds away and just hung up, after awhile I saw 3 hen trying there best it seemed like to lead them away. It was the best and most exciting hunting experience I've had ever, at one point they gobbled for 5 minutes strait! Can't wait till I have a chance to get back out there!!

Hang in there. Patience kills 'em
