March 16 1st turkey of the season

Filled my first tag this morning. Today was the 2nd day of the season here in SC. Birds gobbled all day yesterday, but were very tight first thing today. I was walking to my second setup and heard this bird gobbling before I stepped off the road. I slipped in about 20 yards and sat down. I yelped and cut a few times. He gobbled sporadically, so I just clucked and purred. After just a few minutes, I caught movement to my left. I thought it was a bobcat at first, he was plained out stalking his way in. The he stood upright, showed me his beard, went into half strut a few times. The he walked right in front of my gun barrel at 35 yards. The whole thing didn't take 10 minutes. I was alone so I only got a couple of pics. 4 more tags and 5 weeks to go!!
