Mike Brooks makes fine smoothbores and has the knack to age them. Here is one that is representative of what you might have bought in the 1770's to hunt with and for your militia drill days.

Switch to patched round ball and you can hunt whatever big game you want. Load it with buck and ball and take North America away from the British Empire.

The stock design is different than most of you have seen but it is very comfortable for heavy loads and offhand shooting.
