Thanks to Gopher I see a grouse :lol: If I was in that area I would have said "Heck all I saw was some grass" Good job spotting that grouse and taking the time to get a picture.

You guys are good. It is a ruffed grouse.

The nest was just 20 feet off the driveway at my cabin in Wis. My dog Pine found it and I had to keep him away from the nest until I left the cabin.

Here is a pic of the eggs and a better one of the hen.

Yep thats the one.

There were 11 eggs when I left for the T&TH hunt by you and 12 when I got back. So she laid another egg and began incubating by the time I got back to my cabin.

nice was going to guess a woodcock!!! thats cool she let you get that close!!! good dog also he did not make a snack out of the nest & moma...
