i havebeen hunting super hard these last few weeks with little luck. between dud shells, high wind, rain, and hunting pressure the birds went tight lipped. today was the last day and i had to work this morning so when i got off at 3 i jumped into the suit one last time before putting it all away for another year. it was super hot in the low 90s with barely a breeze. i walked a bit to get to my field setup and was already feeling the heat.i called lightly with no response so every about 20 minutes or so id yelp a little and cluck a few times after. by about 5:10 i was completly discouraged i had just woke up from a 15 minute nap and decided to call a bit. a let out some soft yelps with 2 overly loud clucks... boom.. he hammered 70yrds away in the open oak head at the end of the field.some soft yelps and purrs later and he was strutting down the edge of the field.i let him get to about 15 yrds before i put 2oz of magblend on the baseof his neck. finally on the last day of the 2012 bama season ive got a good bird down... 1 1/8 spurs.... beard rot got the beard only about an inch
