Well , she opens tomorrow. Don't seem possible , but , the normal anxiety of the preseason waiting only began a week or so back . I guess all the bull hocky going on a my job has really got to me more than I thought .
At any rate , Woodchuck and I will be in the public land shortly after 5 am . Forecast calls for temps in the low 50's and winds to 40mph . I believe the wind is to actually pick up during tonight and gust through tuesday. Monday and tuesday being the only two days Woodchuck could get off work.
I know where we can get down low and there has already been a lot of turkey/gobblers hanging in there .I suspect the wind will keep a lot of hunters home too.
The plan is to put Woodchuck on an old bird that we have seen and this particular bird just might be the same one that has beat me the last three years . He surely acts like him anyway . Either way , he's a brute with a horsetail type beard and thunder in his gobble .
you all have a safe and memorable hunt
